Today is the Third Sunday of Easter. It is a time to reflect on how deeply the joyful message of the Resurrection has taken root in our lives. Above all, we must remember that the Risen Lord ensures that we never lose faith and hope in God, no matter what difficulties and sorrows we face in our lives.
Let us pray that the grace of the Risen Lord may live and breathe in every moment of our lives, and let us participate joyfully in the Eucharist, the sacrament in which the Lord is present.

O God,
Who has restored to this people the youth of their soul,
and made them to rejoice without ceasing,
Grant that we may now taste the joy of being your children,
And await with longing the glorious day of the resurrection.
Through your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, for ever and ever.

Peter said to the people:
"The God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,
the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus,
whom you handed over and denied in Pilate's presence
when he had decided to release him.
You denied the Holy and Righteous One
and asked that a murderer be released to you.
The author of life you put to death,
but God raised him from the dead;
of this we are witnesses.
Now I know, brothers,
that you acted out of ignorance,
just as your leaders did;
but God has thus brought to fulfillment
what he had announced beforehand
through the mouth of all the prophets,
that his Christ would suffer.
Repent, therefore, and be converted,
that your sins may be wiped away."

My children, I am writing this to you
so that you may not commit sin.
But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ the righteous one.
He is expiation for our sins,
and not for our sins only but for those of the whole world.
The way we may be sure that we know him is to keep
his commandments.
Those who say, "I know him," but do not keep his commandments
are liars, and the truth is not in them.
But whoever keeps his word,
the love of God is truly perfected in him.

and rise from the dead on the third day.  >

✠The Holy Gospel according to Luke. Lk 24:35-48
The two disciples recounted what had taken place on the way,
and how Jesus was made known to them
in the breaking of bread.
While they were still speaking about this,
he stood in their midst and said to them,
"Peace be with you."
But they were startled and terrified
and thought that they were seeing a ghost.
Then he said to them, "Why are you troubled?
And why do questions arise in your hearts?
Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself.
Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones
as you can see I have."
And as he said this,
he showed them his hands and his feet.
While they were still incredulous for joy and were amazed,
he asked them, "Have you anything here to eat?"
They gave him a piece of baked fish;
he took it and ate it in front of them.
He said to them,
"These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you,
that everything written about me in the law of Moses
and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled."
Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
And he said to them,
"Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer
and rise from the dead on the third day
and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins,
would be preached in his name
to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
You are witnesses of these things."

1. Prayer for the Church:
Lord, head of the Church, Grant us the grace of wisdom, so that we may discern the light from the darkness of the world and live according to the teachings of the Gospel.
2. Prayer for World Peace:
Lord of peace, Look upon this world where human dignity is lost due to war and violence.
Help us to realize the preciousness of life, to stop war, and to move towards the path of peace through dialogue.
3. Prayer for the Abolition of the Death Penalty:
Lord, master of life, Human life created by you is most precious and cannot be violated by anything.
Abolish the death penalty from this land as soon as possible, and comfort the families of the victims, leading them to your peace.
4. Prayer for Our Parish Community:
Lord of communion, Guide our parish community, which rejoices in your resurrection.
Help us to live as a model of communion, sharing joys and sorrows, pleasures and pains, with one mind and one heart.

It is truly right and just,
our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,

for on this night Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.
He is the true Lamb who has taken away the sins of the world.
By his death he has destroyed our death,

God raised Jesus from the dead,
And we wait in hope for our own glorious resurrection.
To us who doubt, Jesus says,
“Why do doubts arise in your hearts?”
Let us pray that Jesus will open our hearts to understand the scriptures.

오늘의 묵상 Today's Meditation

Today's Gospel is from the end of Luke's Gospel, just before the Ascension story.
In fact, we already read the Gospel and the First Reading during the Octave of Easter, but we read them again today because they emphasize the theme of "witnessing" in preparation for the Ascension.
What Jesus wanted from his disciples was not to "teach" but to "be witnesses."
That's why Luke concludes the first part of his book, the Gospel, with a call to "be witnesses" (v. 48), and the second part, the Acts of the Apostles, begins with the "testimony" of these witnesses.
The First Reading today is the story of the first miracle in the Acts of the Apostles,
where Peter heals a "lame man from birth" (3:2) and then proclaims, "You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this." (3:15)
This is a public declaration of the apostles' mission to proclaim and testify to Jesus, who suffered, died, and rose again (the kerygma).
The Second Reading also repeats the phrase "knowing Christ" three times,
and this knowledge leads to testifying to him as "the one who pleads our case" and "the one who became a sacrifice for our sins."
Jesus asks his disciples to be witnesses.
It is our task and God's call to make people know who he is, to share the shining memories we have of him, and to testify to the love he showed even in his suffering and death.
