[๋ฐฑ/White] Monday of the Fourth Week of Easter.

์ž…๋‹น์†ก Introit Antiphon Romans 6:9

Christ, having died once for all,
Never to die again,
Death no longer has dominion over him.
Alleluia.

๋ณธ๊ธฐ๋„ Collect

O God of perfect light,
Grant that we may celebrate
the mystery of Easter in this world,
And enjoy eternal joy through
the abundance of your grace.
Through the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

์ œ 1๋…์„œ First Reading
< Now God has opened the way to repentance
and life for other nations. >

โ–ฅ  A reading from the Acts of the Apostles. Acts 11:1-18
The Apostles and the brothers who were in Judea
heard that the Gentiles too had accepted the word of God.
So when Peter went up to Jerusalem
the circumcised believers confronted him, saying,
'You entered the house of uncircumcised people and ate with them."
Peter began and explained it to them step by step, saying,
"I was at prayer in the city of Joppa
when in a trance I had a vision,
something resembling a large sheet coming down,
lowered from the sky by its four corners, and it came to me.
Looking intently into it,
I observed and saw the four-legged animals of the earth,
the wild beasts, the reptiles, and the birds of the sky.
I also heard a voice say to me, 'Get up, Peter. Slaughter and eat.'
But I said, 'Certainly not, sir,
because nothing profane or unclean has ever entered my mouth.'
But a second time a voice from heaven answered,
'What God has made clean, you are not to call profane.'
This happened three times,
and then everything was drawn up again into the sky.
Just then three men appeared at the house where we were,
who had been sent to me from Caesarea.
The Spirit told me to accompany them without discriminating.
These six brothers also went with me,
and we entered the man's house.
He related to us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, saying,
'Send someone to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter,
who will speak words to you
by which you and all your household will be saved.'
As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them
as it had upon us at the beginning,
and I remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said,
'John baptized with water
but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'
If then God gave them the same gift he gave to us
when we came to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ,
who was I to be able to hinder God?"
When they heard this,
they stopped objecting and glorified God, saying,
"God has then granted life-giving repentance to the Gentiles too."

The Word of the Lord.
โ—Ž Thanks be to God.

ํ™”๋‹ต์†ก Responsorial Psalm Ps 42:2-3; 43:3, 4(โ—Ž 3a)

โ—Ž Athirst is my soul for the living God.
or:

โ—Ž Alleluia.
โ—‹ As the hind longs for the running waters,
so my soul longs for you, O God.
Athirst is my soul for God, the living God.
When shall I go and behold the face of God? โ—Ž
โ—‹ Send forth your light and your fidelity;
    they shall lead me on
And bring me to your holy mountain,
    to your dwelling-place. โ—Ž
โ—‹ Then will I go in to the altar of God,
    the God of my gladness and joy;
Then will I give you thanks upon the harp,
    O God, my God! โ—Ž

๋ณต์Œ  ํ™˜ํ˜ธ์†ก Alleluia Jn 10:14

โ—Ž Alleluia, alleluia.
โ—‹ I am the good shepherd, says the Lord;
I know my sheep, and mine know me.

โ—Ž Alleluia, alleluia.

๋ณต์Œ Gospel
< I am the gate for the sheep. >

โœ  The Holy Gospel according to John. Jn 10:1-10
Jesus said:
"Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever does not enter a sheepfold through the gate
but climbs over elsewhere is a thief and a robber.
But whoever enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice,
as he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
When he has driven out all his own,
he walks ahead of them, and the sheep follow him,
because they recognize his voice.
But they will not follow a stranger;
they will run away from him,
because they do not recognize the voice of strangers."
Although Jesus used this figure of speech,
they did not realize what he was trying to tell them.
So Jesus said again, "Amen, amen, I say to you,
I am the gate for the sheep.
All who came before me are thieves and robbers,
but the sheep did not listen to them.
I am the gate.
Whoever enters through me will be saved,
and will come in and go out and find pasture.
A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy;
I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly."

The Gospel of the Lord.
โ—Ž Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ

์˜ˆ๋ฌผ ๊ธฐ๋„ Prayer over the Gifts

Lord,
In your immense love,
you have bestowed upon us the source of such great joy.
Receive the offering of your joyful church,
And grant us the fruit of everlasting delight.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, forever and ever.
Amen.

๊ฐ์‚ฌ์†ก Preface
< Easter Proclamation 1: The Mystery of the Paschal

It is truly right and just,
our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
O Lord, holy Father, almighty and everlasting God.
But on this night, above all nights,
we are bound to praise you with joy and gladness,
for on this night Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.
He is the true Lamb who has taken away the sins of the world.
By his death he has destroyed our death,
and by his rising to life he has restored us to life.
Therefore, the whole world exults in gladness,
and the choirs of angels sing in heaven.
The redeemed rejoice on earth,
and all creation is radiant
with the splendor of your glory.

์˜์„ฑ์ฒด์†ก Communion antiphon Jn 20:19

Jesus stood among his disciples and said,
"Peace be with you."
Alleluia.

์˜์„ฑ์ฒด ํ›„ ๋ฌต์ƒ Meditation after Communion

< Let us pray silently for a while in union with Christ. >

์˜์„ฑ์ฒด ํ›„ ๊ธฐ๋„ Prayer after Communion

Lord,
Mercifully look upon your people,
renewed by the mystery of Easter,
And grant that we may share in the glory
of immortality through the resurrection of the body.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, forever and ever.
Amen.

์˜ค๋Š˜์˜ ๋ฌต์ƒ Today's Meditation

Even after knowing someone for a long time, we often don't know who they really are. It is even more so with God, whom we cannot see or hear. Therefore, it is inevitable that our faith in God can be shaken by doubt at any time.
The Bible is a public revelation of God, and the Gospel of John proclaims this revelation with the phrase "I am." It reveals God without any exaggeration or artifice, using the somewhat direct expression "I am."
In yesterday's Gospel, Jesus revealed himself as "the good shepherd," and today he introduces himself as "the door," "the door of the sheep." It is worth noting that he does not say "the door of the sheepfold" but "the door of the sheep." He is not simply declaring a physical gate but a "door" that leads to eternal life, provides "pastures to feed on," and leads to "salvation."
The reading tells us about Peter, who has entered through that door and now has a new perspective. When he was criticized for going to "the house of uncircumcised men" and eating food forbidden to Jews, Peter boldly declared, "What God has made clean, you must not call unclean." "Now God has opened the way to repentance and life for other nations as well." He has magnificently proclaimed that the door has been opened for the "new Israel," the "true sheep."
When we feel trapped, when we are confused about where to go, Jesus suddenly becomes our door. He says, "Come here, this is the door!" and personally becomes the "door of the sheep." Only this door can lead us from suffocating oppression and injustice, fear and anxiety to the path of true freedom.
