[백/White] Saturday of the Third Week of Easter.

( Korean Day for the Disabled )

April 20th is designated as Korean Day for the Disabled to promote the status of people with disabilities and boost their morale.
Since 2000, the Catholic Church in Korea has also observed this day as the Day for the Disabled, and has pledged to pay greater attention to the welfare and human rights of people with disabilities.

입당송 Introit Antiphon Colossians 2:12

We were buried with him through baptism into death,
in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead
through the glory of the Father,
so we too may live a new life.
Alleluia.

본기도 Collect

O God,
You have given new birth to those
who believe through the water of baptism.
May you guard us, who have been reborn in Christ,
that we may escape from all error
and faithfully keep the grace that you have given.
Through the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.…….

제 1독서 First Reading
< The church was firmly established and grew in number,
encouraged by the Holy Spirit. >

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.  Acts 9:31-42
The Church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria
was at peace.
She was being built up and walked in the fear of the Lord,
and with the consolation of the Holy Spirit she grew in numbers.
As Peter was passing through every region,
he went down to the holy ones living in Lydda.
There he found a man named Aeneas,
who had been confined to bed for eight years, for he was paralyzed.
Peter said to him,
"Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed."
He got up at once.
And all the inhabitants of Lydda and Sharon saw him,
and they turned to the Lord.
Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha
(which translated is Dorcas).
She was completely occupied with good deeds and almsgiving.
Now during those days she fell sick and died,
so after washing her, they laid her out in a room upstairs.
Since Lydda was near Joppa,
the disciples, hearing that Peter was there,
sent two men to him with the request,
"Please come to us without delay."
So Peter got up and went with them.
When he arrived, they took him to the room upstairs
where all the widows came to him weeping
and showing him the tunics and cloaks
that Dorcas had made while she was with them.
Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed.
Then he turned to her body and said, "Tabitha, rise up."
She opened her eyes, saw Peter, and sat up.
He gave her his hand and raised her up,
and when he had called the holy ones and the widows,
he presented her alive.
This became known all over Joppa,
and many came to believe in the Lord.

The Word of the Lord.
◎ Thanks be to God.

복음 Gospel
< Master, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life. >

The Holy Gospel according to JohnJn 6:60-69
Many of the disciples of Jesus who were listening said,
"This saying is hard; who can accept it?"
Since Jesus knew that his disciples were murmuring about this,
he said to them, "Does this shock you?
What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
It is the Spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail.
The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life.
But there are some of you who do not believe."
Jesus knew from the beginning the ones who would not believe
and the one who would betray him.
And he said, "For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me
unless it is granted him by my Father."
As a result of this,
many of his disciples returned to their former way of life
and no longer walked with him.
Jesus then said to the Twelve, "Do you also want to leave?"
Simon Peter answered him, "Master, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life.
We have come to believe
and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God."

The Gospel of the Lord.
◎ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ

예물 기도 Prayer over the Gifts

Lord,
Mercifully receive the sacrifice offered by your family,
And by your help and protection,
May we not lose what we have received,
And may we also receive the eternal gift.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, forever and ever.
Amen.…….

감사송 Preface
< Easter Proclamation 1: The Mystery of the Paschal

It is truly right and just,
our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
O Lord, holy Father, almighty and everlasting God.
But on this night, above all nights,
we are bound to praise you with joy and gladness,
for on this night Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.
He is the true Lamb who has taken away the sins of the world.
By his death he has destroyed our death,
and by his rising to life he has restored us to life.
Therefore, the whole world exults in gladness,
and the choirs of angels sing in heaven.
The redeemed rejoice on earth,
and all creation is radiant
with the splendor of your glory.

영성체송 Communion antiphon Jn 17:20-21

The Lord said,
Father,
I pray for these people,
that they may be one as we are one,
so that the world may believe
that you sent me.
Alleluia.

영성체 후 묵상 Meditation after Communion

< Let us pray silently for a while in union with Christ. >

영성체 후 기도 Prayer after Communion

Lord,
By the cross of the Holy Son,
You have saved us.
Keep us by your love,
And bring us to the glory of the risen Christ.
The Holy Son is forever.…….

오늘의 묵상 Today's Meditation

Jesus's declaration, "Take my flesh and eat it, and drink my blood" (John 6:54), was met with confusion and disgust by many of his listeners. They understood his words literally, as a demand to consume his physical body and blood. This caused them to recoil and abandon him, unable to grasp the deeper meaning of his message.
Sensing their bewilderment, Jesus elaborated, "The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life" (John 6:63). He clarified that his words were not a literal instruction to cannibalize him but rather a symbolic invitation to partake in his spiritual essence and eternal life.
Despite this clarification, Jesus turned to his twelve disciples and asked, "Will you also go away?" (John 6:67). Peter, with unwavering faith, responded, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have believed and know that you are the holy one of God" (John 6:68-69).
Peter's confession of faith marked the culmination of the "Bread of Life" discourse, the central theme of John 6. It epitomized the willingness to remain with Jesus, even in the face of perplexing teachings.
Today's reading extends the narrative, showcasing Peter's growth and development as he heeded Jesus's call to abide. Staying by Jesus's side, Peter emulated his actions and embodied his teachings. It was through this unwavering commitment that Peter was transformed into a reflection of his Master.
The essence of the Eucharist lies not in the act of consumption but in the transformation it brings about. It is not about physically ingesting Christ's flesh and blood but rather about aligning ourselves with his spirit and receiving the life he offers.
The key to this transformation lies in our willingness to abide, to remain with Jesus even when we don't fully comprehend his words or actions. It is our choice to persevere, to find solace in his presence, to seek understanding through continued engagement.
The Eucharist is a profound invitation to abide, to deepen our connection with Christ, and to allow ourselves to be transformed into his likeness. It is a call to embrace the mystery, to trust in the transformative power of his presence, and to remain steadfast in our faith, even when faced with challenges.
In the face of confusion and discomfort, abiding with Jesus is our most profound act of obedience and our wisest course of action. It is through this unwavering commitment that we can experience the true essence of the Eucharist and be transformed into bearers of his light and love.
